Yehuda Levi (“Pichi”)
A member of the Hanoar Hazioni movement’s rescue underground in Hungary, he smuggled Jews from Nazi-occupied Hungary into Romania. At the age of 20 on liberation day, he joined the Bricha and coordinated the movement’s post-liberation activity from Hungary to Austria under the borrowed identity of a Red Cross operative and managed, along with his comrades to move thousands of Holocaust survivors per day in special railroad cars reserved for “refugee transport.”
